Stonify: The Digital Platform transforming the way we work with Natural Stone

In the natural stone sector, where tradition and innovation go hand in hand, Stonify emerges as a pioneering digital platform that redefines the way production and commercialization are managed. It is one of the technological solutions we are implementing to make our processes more efficient, transparent, and connected.

Can you tell us a bit about what Stonify is and what sparked the idea of creating this technological solution for the natural stone sector?

Stonify is a digital platform developed to revolutionize the natural stone industry. It was born out of the concrete need to simplify complex processes, increase traceability, and provide a more modern and visual management system for the production and commercialization of this highly valued material.

How did the idea of developing this platform come about?

The idea was born directly on the factory floor, as a result of daily experience and close contact with clients, combined with several research projects in partnership with universities. We identified a clear pattern of inefficiencies in collecting and using visual, logistical, and production data, which motivated the creation of a connected and automated solution. In addition, this project is the result of collaboration between two companies, Frontwave and Sevways, which decided to join forces and create a spin-off to add value to the sector.

This digital platform was born from a real need in the industry and has transformed the way we produce, catalog, and market natural stone.

Can you explain how the high-precision scanner system works? What type of data is captured and how does it benefit users?

Stonify uses horizontal and vertical high-precision scanners, complemented by other advanced imaging technologies, fully integrated into the production line. These devices capture high-resolution images and collect detailed metadata, such as dimensions and quality, allowing each slab to be digitized, cataloged, and tracked quickly and accurately, ensuring greater control and transparency for all stakeholders.

How does Stonify’s ERP software help manage digital stone catalogs? What are the main features that make this platform different from other solutions on the market?

Stonify’s ERP stands out for its total integration: it combines digital catalog, complete traceability, direct connection with scanners, and e-commerce platforms, all in a single solution. The platform automates tasks by synchronizing production, sales, and logistics departments under a common language. It uses SAGE X3 and includes a mobile application, SHOPFLOOR, which enables real-time data collection, making decision-making and operational efficiency much easier.

Transparency and traceability are key terms when describing Stonify. How does the platform ensure these aspects, and why are they so important for the natural stone sector?

At Stonify, traceability is a native feature: each piece is digitally identified from the moment it is cut until final delivery. This level of transparency strengthens customer trust, simplifies auditing and certification processes, and raises industry standards by ensuring quality and safety at every stage.

How is Stonify transforming the traditional process of marketing and managing natural stone materials?

The platform significantly shortens the cycle between production and sales. The block enters sawing and, after the slabs are polished, they immediately become available in the online catalog, complete with images, stock, and technical details. Moreover, even before processing, the client can catalog and view the block, making the whole process faster and more transparent.

What impact do you expect this platform to have on producers, distributors, and end customers in the sector?

Stonify brings greater agility, error reduction, and increased trust among all stakeholders. Producers gain productivity and better visibility of their stock; clients get clear and transparent access to what they are purchasing. The result is a virtuous cycle of more sales, fewer returns, and higher overall satisfaction.

What were the main technical and integration challenges you had to overcome during Stonify’s development and implementation?

The biggest challenges were team integration, user training, and adapting to the advances in generative artificial intelligence, ensuring that everyone could fully benefit from the technology without losing the essential human touch.

How has the market received the platform? Can you share some examples of feedback or success stories?

The reception has been extremely positive. A concrete example is Grupo Galrão, which is already generating qualified leads through its digital catalog, translating into real results and growth in commercial conversion.

With the integration of high-precision scanners, full traceability, and direct connection to the digital catalog, Stonify enables us to respond to market demands faster, more accurately, and more sustainably.

Is Stonify ready to adapt to the future needs of the sector? What kind of technological or functional evolution do you plan in the medium and long term?

Yes, Stonify’s modular and scalable architecture ensures that it is future-ready. We are developing AI-powered modules that will optimize cutting and logistical planning, preparing the industry for a new level of efficiency and innovation.

How do you see the future of the natural stone sector in light of digitalization and new technologies like Stonify?

We foresee a more agile, transparent, and connected sector. Digitalization will be inevitable and essential: those who adapt will lead. Generative AI will bring significant gains in process optimization, cost reduction, customer satisfaction, more competitive pricing, and strict deadline compliance.

What are the next steps for Grupo Galrão in terms of technological innovation? Will you continue to invest in this type of solution?

Absolutely. Grupo Galrão will continue investing in innovation, particularly in IoT with factory sensorization, in generative AI with the implementation of a production copilot to optimize scheduling and maximize operations, and in gamification of the factory floor, promoting greater interaction and engagement among employees through the SHOPFLOOR app.
