Quarries

Located in a region with over 20 centuries of history, our Estremoz and Fonte da Moura quarries produce around 7,000m³ of premium marble each year. Known for its diverse colors and exclusive patterns, this marble captures the rich heritage of the land, offering a unique blend of tradition and natural beauty.

Estremoz

Set in the picturesque area of Pardais near Vila Viçosa, the Fonte da Moura quarry is renowned for its fine and medium-grained crystalline marble, celebrated for its beauty and versatility. Among its notable varieties are Rosa Aurora, distinguished by its pinkish-brown veins, and Amadeus, known for its striking black and bluish-grey hues that create an elegant contrast. Spanning 30,000m², Fonte da Moura is the Galrão Group’s most active quarry, producing 4,000m³ annually and ensuring a steady supply of premium materials for large-scale projects worldwide.

Factories and Warehouse

With decades of experience in complex and demanding projects, our factories and warehouses are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and strategically positioned to optimize the processing and distribution of natural stone. Our agile and integrated logistics operation ensures effective national and international coverage, delivering materials with the excellence that sets us apart in the industry.

Pêro Pinheiro

Located just 30 kilometers from Lisbon in Sintra, the Pêro Pinheiro factory is the Galrão Group’s largest facility. Covering 9,000 m² of enclosed space and featuring 30,000 m² of storage along with a dedicated showroom, this facility boasts comprehensive infrastructure for processing and finishing various types of natural stone, with a particular focus on both local and imported marble.

Monção

Situated in Monção in northern Portugal, this factory is nestled in the heart of the country’s main granite region. Its proximity to the largest quarries in the area enables a production capacity of around 3,000 m³ of granite per year.

Porto

With a covered area of 2,400 m² and an annual handling capacity of 40,000 m², the Galrão warehouse in Porto is strategically located near the Port of Leixões—the largest port facility in northern Portugal and one of the most significant in the country. This prime location ensures efficient logistics for both national and international markets, enhancing our ability to deliver materials efficiently and reliably.

Team

Our team blends expertise and technology to shape natural stone, tailoring it to the vision of each project. Comprising artisans, technicians, and specialists, we collaborate at every stage—from extraction to the final product—always in perfect harmony. This passionate and dedicated approach reflects the skill and legacy of the Galrão Group.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a priority in all our operations and strategic decisions at the Galrão Group. Committed to balancing the responsible use of natural resources with environmental protection, we focus on reducing our ecological footprint at every stage of our production process.

Renewable Energy and Sustainable Mobility

We have invested in solar panel installations at our two factories, ensuring that a significant proportion of the energy used comes from renewable sources. It is projected that 45% of the energy consumed at the Pêro Pinheiro plant and 35% at the Monção plant will be generated by these installations. Our commitment to sustainability also extends to mobility, with the gradual introduction of electric vehicles into our fleet, reducing emissions of harmful gases.

Efficient Water Management

With an investment of €430,000 in the construction of a Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) and an internal water reuse circuit, we are enhancing the efficiency of our water resource management. This initiative allows us to recycle water used in production processes, reducing waste and reinforcing our commitment to sustainability.

Circular Economy: STOME

Respect for the environment goes hand in hand with innovation. Guided by this principle, we created STOME to transform natural stone waste from our quarries into a model of circular economy. Leveraging 70 years of experience, technology, and creativity, STOME offers unique patterns that adapt to various spaces, promoting resource reuse and sustainability in interior design.
